Otter Tail Power EV Charger Rebate
Otter Tail Power customers in South Dakota, on a qualified off-peak rate
Hardwired chargers under load control only. Mail-in form, allow 6 to 8 weeks. Otter Tail's panel upgrade rebate is Minnesota only despite what their programme index suggests.

Bright Energy Solutions Charger Rebate
Customers of 12 South Dakota municipal utilities including Brookings, Pierre, Watertown and Vermillion
The higher tier needs a ChargePoint Home Flex linked by Wi-Fi to your utility. One per vehicle, and previously bought chargers may still qualify. Municipal customers only.

Black Hills Energy Ready EV Rebate
Black Hills Energy electric customers in western South Dakota
The US Department of Energy confirms this rebate exists, but two separate checks could not load Black Hills' own page to confirm the figure, so we will not print one. Widely repeated as $500. South Dakota declined the federal home energy rebate funding entirely.
Official program page - FederalUp to $4,000 for a panel upgrade, within an up-to-$14,000 total
Home Electrification and Appliance Rebates (IRA HEAR)

Availability varies by state: some programs are live, others are launching in 2026 or fully reserved. Check your state energy office.
