    NYSERDA Residential Energy Storage

    Per-kWh incentive, rate varies by utility

    New York homeowners adding a battery of 25 kW / 25 kWh or less through a participating contractor

    Claimed by your contractor and passed through to you. Funding is released in blocks that close as they fill, so the current rate depends on your utility and when you apply.

    SmartCharge New York

    About $400 a year for overnight charging

    Drivers charging in Con Edison territory, 7 cents per kWh in Orange & Rockland territory

    Rewards when you charge, not the hardware. 10 cents per kWh between midnight and 8am, plus $35 a month in summer for avoiding weekday afternoons. Not available on time-of-use rates.

    National Grid ConnectedSolutions Battery (Upstate NY)

    $50 per kW each summer season

    Upstate New York National Grid customers with an internet-connected battery, including Tesla

    Averages about $250 a year. Up to 60 events per summer, four hours maximum, and you can opt out at any time.

    $50 per kW, about $180 per summer

    Orange & Rockland customers with a Tesla Powerwall or other qualifying battery

    Around 15 adjustments per summer, up to four hours. Paid as electronic gift cards.
