Hawaiian Electric Bring Your Own Device Plus
Hawaiian Electric customers adding a battery to rooftop solar
Paid on the export capacity you commit, not battery size, so a 15 kWh battery committing 5 kW earns $2,000. Five-year commitment, and leaving early can trigger repayment. This replaced Battery Bonus, which closed to new participants in 2024.

Hawaii Renewable Energy Technologies Tax Credit
Hawaii taxpayers who own a qualifying solar system
Confirm the dollar cap with the Hawaii Department of Taxation, it is set by statute and we could not read it on an official page. Act 24 changes the rules for systems placed in service after Dec 31, 2026, so 2026 installs use the current structure.
